Dejair Costa de Lima, known as Mestre Grillo, started Capoeira at the age of 13 in February 1992 in the city of Gravataí, which is in the state of Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil

​In 1995, at 16 years of age, he started teaching Capoeira and his passion for teaching was always the same size as for his love of the Art. in 2003 he was introduced to a new idea, which was to teach Capoeira in kindergarten and after so many years giving class for young people and adults, he found himself in a new universe, where he had a lot to learn and contribute.

After accompanying and initiating several works in his region, he decided to undertake and follow his own path, that's when he started the Project called Brincadeira de Capoeira, growing a lot and each year improving the way of work.

A new methodology was forming and, along with this professionalization, a new organization was created and what were just autonomous capoeiristas became professionals in the field of Cultural Recreation.

During this period, passionate about being part of child development, he completed his degree in Pedagogy and once again decided to undertake, in 2010 he created Universo Criativo and more activities are incorporated, such as Ballet and Dance and each year it was establishing itself as a serious company and committed, becoming a reference in this segment, having served more than 80 schools in 14 municipalities.

Today, with a degree in Capoeira and a postgraduate degree in Psychopedagogy, he is the leader of the Grupo Resgate Cultural Oxóssi Capoeira, whose reference is Mestre Índio da Bahia, and also develops the Resgate Cultural Kids Project, which currently serves over 50 schools in Brazil with an estimated over 1500 students.

In 2020, he expanded his work to the USA and Uruguay, where he has disciples developing work based on his teaching methodology and philosophy, which always seeks to innovate and raise the flag of Creativity and the development of emotional intelligence as the main resource for a new pedagogy, to attract this new generation that is already more evolved than one can keep up with.

Because the Mestre understands that only those who are open and really passionate about educating will perceive the universe of possibilities, mainly through Capoeira as a tool for educational and cultural development, all the social and personal contribution that we can achieve through art.
